Patent 139 Brewing Co. is a locally owned brewery and restaurant located at 1949 W. Ray Road in Chandler, Arizona. The brewery has a family story unlike most craft breweries in the Valley. Founder Tim Hass is the great-grandchild of Rudolf Gustav Hass, whose Hass avocado received U.S. Plant Patent 139. Tim combined that family history with his own experience and passion for beer and hospitality to create Patent 139 Brewing Co., which opened in Chandler in 2022.
Craft beer is at the center of the Patent 139 experience. The brewery produces its own beers while also providing opportunities to explore other craft selections. One of its early signature releases was Willowood, a West Coast-style IPA. The brewery has produced other distinctive releases over the years while continuing to develop new beer flavors. Visitors can learn more about the brewery, restaurant and current offerings on the official Patent 139 Brewing Co. website.
The setting helps distinguish Patent 139 from other Chandler breweries. The restaurant features a spacious outdoor patio overlooking a community lake, providing a waterfront setting for enjoying a beer and a meal. Patent 139 also operates a full kitchen, with a current menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, shareable dishes and smokehouse selections. The brewery hosts private events and offers catering in addition to its regular restaurant and brewing operations.
