AZ Beer Drinkers is about discovering Arizona breweries, finding great local beer, and supporting the businesses that make Arizona’s beer community unique. We also believe enjoying alcohol should always be done responsibly.
For some people, drinking can become difficult to control or begin affecting their health, relationships, work, finances, or everyday life. If you’re concerned about your drinking—or you’re concerned about someone you know—confidential help and support are available.
You don’t have to wait for a crisis to talk with someone.
If alcohol is creating problems in your life, consider reaching out to a healthcare professional or an organization specializing in alcohol and substance-use support.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides confidential treatment referral and information services for individuals and families dealing with substance use.
Call: 1-800-662-HELP (4357)
You can also use SAMHSA’s treatment locator to find treatment services in your area.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) provides peer-support meetings for people who want help with their drinking.
Meetings are available throughout Arizona as well as online.
Visit the official Alcoholics Anonymous website to locate meetings and learn more about its programs.
FindTreatment.gov is a confidential resource provided by SAMHSA that can help you locate substance-use and mental-health treatment facilities throughout the United States.
You can search based on your location and the type of support you need.
Changes in someone’s drinking can affect friends, partners, coworkers, and family members as well.
You can encourage someone to speak with a healthcare professional or treatment provider, but support is also available specifically for family members and friends affected by another person’s drinking.
Organizations such as Al-Anon provide support groups and resources for people affected by someone else’s alcohol use.
If you’ve been drinking, don’t drive.
Plan your transportation before you start drinking whenever possible. Use a designated driver, rideshare service, taxi, public transportation, or arrange to stay where you are until you can travel safely.
A night out is never worth risking your life or someone else’s.
Alcohol poisoning and other alcohol-related emergencies can be life-threatening.
If someone is unconscious, cannot be awakened, is having difficulty breathing, is having a seizure, or appears to be experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
Do not assume that someone can simply “sleep it off.”
AZ Beer Drinkers exists to celebrate Arizona’s beer community—not irresponsible drinking.
Votes, rankings, beer menus, happy hours, events, and brewery information on AZ Beer Drinkers are provided for discovery and informational purposes. They should never be interpreted as encouragement to consume excessive amounts of alcohol.
Drink responsibly. Never drink and drive.
